Welcome! Silver English is a relaxed class made especially for people in their silver years. We gather on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.—a gentle mid-morning hour when most of us feel awake but not yet busy with lunch plans.
シルバー・イングリッシュ — シニアのためのやさし い英会話
ようこそ！ シルバー・イングリッシュは、シニア世代のために作られたリラックスした英会話クラスです。毎月第1・第3水曜日の午前10時〜11時に集まります。まだランチの予定で忙しくなる前の、ちょうど良い時間帯です。
Many English books are written for teenagers or college students, so I create my own large-print handouts just for you. The topics are things seniors usually enjoy: stories about grandchildren, memories of old Osaka, travel dreams, simple health tips, even new gadgets explained in plain words. We move slowly, repeat often, and leave tricky grammar out of the way.
多くの英語教材は中高生や大学生向けに作られています。そのため私は、大きな文字で読みやすいオリジナルのプリントを用意しています。内容はお孫さんの話、昔の大阪の思い出、旅行の夢、かんたんな健康情報、新しいガジェットの紹介など、シニアの皆さんが興味を持ちやすいテーマばかりです。授業はゆっくり進み、何度もくり返し練習し、難しい文法は避けます。
The lesson takes place in my cosy home classroom near Suita Station. You may sit on the sofa or tuck your legs under the kotatsu table when it is chilly. Fresh coffee, tea, and a small snack are on the sideboard, and no one minds if you pour a second cup. The toilet is close by, and there is time to chat fifteen minutes before and after class.
レッスンは吹田駅近くの自宅教室で行います。寒い日はこたつに足を入れることもできますし、ソファに座ってもかまいません。淹れたてのコーヒーやお茶、軽いお菓子をご用意していますので、遠慮なくおかわりしてください。トイレもすぐそばにあり、レッスンの前後15分はゆっくりおしゃべりできます。
I love shaping each lesson to fit the people in the room. My student Junko plays the piano, so I prepared a class just for her. We learned words like harmony and staccato, then acted out a scene where Junko gave a piano lesson to a visitor from abroad. Another student, Michiko, adores Korean dramas; we practised short dialogues from her favourite show. Mr Tanaka wanted to travel again, so we rehearsed airport check-in and ordering meals on the plane. Tell me your hobby, and I will weave it into our next meeting.
私は毎回、参加者に合わせて授業内容を変えています。たとえばピアノが得意なジュンコさんのために、「ハーモニー」「スタッカート」といった音楽用語を学び、外国人の生徒にピアノを教えるロールプレイをしました。韓国ドラマが好きなミチコさんとは、お気に入りのドラマの短い会話を練習しました。旅行好きの田中さんとは、空港のチェックインや機内食の注文をリハーサルしました。あなたの趣味を教えてください。次回のレッスンに取り入れます。
The fee is ¥1 600 per person for the full hour. This price includes all handouts, your drink, and the snack—no hidden costs, no enrolment fee. You simply pay on the day in cash or by PayPay.
料金は1時間でお一人 1,600円。プリント、飲み物、お菓子すべて込みで、入会金や追加費用はありません。当日、現金またはPayPayでお支払いください。
